Like the field is cultivated to bear life sustaining produce so can life be cultivated to allow a healthier, happier, and even a greater life filled with higher purpose and meaning. One aspect it to look after the body so that we can carry out daily tasks and responsibilities, and experience joy and harmony. Another aspect is to broaden and deepen understanding and to refine character, so as to embrace the greater meaning of life and open a path to higher wisdom and realisations.
Greater value of studies, practice, and experience is when knowledge, methods, quintessence, and one’s own summary can be transmitted further. Sharing the merits allows greater progress. Therefore, the purpose of Life Cultivating is to allow people to reap the benefits stemming from learning and utilising life nourishing practices, methods, and therapies. We also support realigning and transitioning of one’s life to live healthy, harmoniously, and meaningfully.
Practice is the base for transformation. It is the means to bring about and accelerate changes in our lives, and to stabilise, solidify, and expand their outcomes. One needs to be willing to embark on a journey of self-discovery, as well as put effort, be consistent and dedicated.
The aim of practice may differ from person to person. However, there is a few fundamental potential benefits one can gain, which are healthier and stronger body, deeper awareness of one’s form and energy field, calmer and sharper mind, greater harmony and balance, as well as profound feeling of the unity of oneself and the whole creation. What one actually gains through practice depends on the intention, determination, understanding, methods, teachers, and destiny.
There are trial and tribulations bound to take place even if practice is stable and solid. It is to test our sincerity, humbleness, compassion, and dedication. To pass them we need clarity, stable practice, thorough study, and upright morality.
Progress and establishing oneself in practice requires the right methods and wisely utilising and alternating them to suit the complex dynamic of the body, mind, and spirit. In Daoist practices we unify the Heaven, Earth, and Man. We harmonise the Five Phases. We work through the duality, interaction and transformation of Yin and Yang. We develop stillness and through that stillness act. The Yin rises from the depths of the Yang and the Yang from the depths of the Yin. Action arises from stillness and it also ends in stillness which is where the cycle returns. Stillness on its own becomes rigid, whereas unrestrained action exhausts. It is of great benefit to stay balanced in all situations in order to harmoniously grow and evolve.
At Life Cultivating we offer teaching of practices and therapies by the means of regular classes, tutorship, and workshops to foster self-cultivation. To build healthy, harmonious and strong body is the foundation. Broadening one’s perspective and opening the mind goes along the process.
